I personally think you need to eat more. You could be the first climber 120Kg+ to climb 'built to last'. Therefore not only crushing Luke in your challenge but giving us punters a betting scale based on the Kilos you are carrying....

Now, if Luke is Grandaddy, and Paddles is nearly Dead, then I (And prob Martyn) are in the spiritual realm :exclam: :)

It good to see so many "heavy" dudes cranking, if so many of you can climb hard grades, try losing some weight! Takes a lot of those fingers... :D

There is no excuse for every one under 26 not to crank 28+ before they die. I started climbing at 26...and although I havn't cranked out 28 yet, it's only a matter of time (Bit like Martyn with 30...it will happen) - GET TO THE CRAGS

Interesting stuff - it'd be kinda cool to compile it all in a table or something - but maybe that's just a little geeky... ;)

ok
heres the stats, based on an unrepresentative sample of 21 the averages are as follows
# of males = 18
# of females = 3
age = 26.9
height = 175.9cm
weight = 72.7kg
boulder grade = 5.8
trad grade = 21.5
sport grade = 23.8
years climbing = 7
average body mass index = 23.5

Andrew is the heaviest at 90.9kg (too many pies i think) and also the tallest with luke (189cm)
I am the shortest male 165cm (bugger) and cleddy is shortest overall (152cm)
martyn takes the age (37) and years climbing (23) prize, along with the hardest sport and trad grades (28) (there is hope for the rest of us yet)
paddles is at the bottom end of the BMI range (may need to meet Andrew)
so there you have it. Another scale on which to rank yourself to prove how hard/useless you are.

This is best onsight's right?

Age: 28
Height: 6' (184cm)
Weight: 70kg
Boulder: V4
Trad: E1 5b = about 19/20
Sport: French 7b+ (around 26). It was a fair time ago though (before i was out for 2 years after trashing my rotator cuff)
Years Climbing: 10

So, my best onsights are pretty decent but not really indicative of how well I can climb now, especially in the case of my sport grade. My trad grade is a solo too (best grade actually with a rack on is HVS 5b - 18/19) and i've led 17 here trad at the quarry. So i'm a punter that used to be able to climb... ;)

Nice Stats CraigM, :)

I think the average of nearly grade 24 for hardest sport climb, is pretty damn good! A 7 year average for years climbing is great news as well.

I think that for such a small country we are quite a talented bunch - considering that our grades (and Australias) are usualy a touch on the hard side too.

the weight thing is a bit of a worry!! Luke and Andrew lose some weight for gods sake! youtr pulling our average up! ;) - (I know that Andrew has been cross training a bit - cycling yeah?)

Cleddy as Matt

Indeed they are good stats. I better learn to climb a bit better - I'm seriously dragging the stats down!

Guess you could discount my stats though it you like seeing as I speak with a distinctly non kiwi accent although I'm sure in a few years I'll be blending in and my English accent will be left lurking somewhere under the surface (as I move on to accent number 5 of my life!)
