are you in Ashvegas?
yeah, the mecca, looks like the weather might be abit rough for it this weekend
From Canterbury Rock (1989):
Directly below the ski area carpark are 4 buttresses of solid red alpine rock that offer good climbing in the late ski season when its nice and warm
On the 2nd buttress R of the chairlift
Poptones 16 20m
Designed to stimulate the minds of bored ski instructors.Good climbing 8bolts.Belay bolts .Use small krabs the brackets have smallish holes. Robin Hood
The 4th buttress right of the chairlift has 2 top rope routes with a centrally heated belay (your car).

There are two climbs up at the ski field - on the buttresses where the bungy platform is. Put up by Robin Hood way back. Both 16.
I take it you are wondering if you can access the mountain to ski or board it? or bike it? Generally you would let the ski patrol staff know in season if you were going touring or out of bounds. After some issues a few years back where they wanted to charge ski tourers full lift prices " to use the field " things have settled somewhat.
You could ring the Mt Hutt office on 03 302 8811 and let them know.
The road is usually open. I think under the lease terms they can't stop you unless it is unsafe. They are usually pretty reasonable.
