Can you help???

I am currently trying to get my mountaineering gear from nepal back to Christchurch where i currently live. There is about 20kg in two bags, the best quote i have at the moment is $950. Does anyone know of a cheaper way for me to do this.

Cheers,

Dan

Have you called the guiding companies (specifically thinking Adventure Consultants) and asked how they move gear back and forth? They must have a similar problem on occasion.

Hey, I posted some gear home 5-10 kg through TNT. I can't remember the exact cost, but it was stuff all... 30 US maybe. It got to NZ pretty quickly (this was last Dec) but then held up in customs because I wasn't here to fill out a form. That was through a rough looking office of theirs in Kathmandu, near Thamel. But there was a German guy in sending three motorbikes to Sweden at the same time - so they do bigger stuff too. I have the emails from them if you want an address.

Talking to the Guides is a good idea though... mine was a one off
