Cheers climbers!  I'm a native San Franciscan traveling around the South Island for the next few weeks (currently in Christchurch) and would love to tag along on an outdoor trip ... Castle Hill looks lovely.  I'm also planning to visit the Otago area (specifically Dunedin) as well as Queenstown, Wanaka, and the Nelson region.  Any climbing around there, or really anywhere else, would be fantastic.  I prefer to boulder or sport climb, and as I'm new to leading I'd rather second. I have neither a vehicle nor a driver's license ... nor a crash pad or any gear with me (no wonder I'm having a hard time finding climbing partners) but if you are interested in good company, I know some real bad jokes and am super nice.  More importantly, I'm happy to contribute beer, wine, whiskey, gas money, etc ...

thanks a million!

Stephanie

I took a bus down to Dunedin yesterday and unfortunately didn't get back onto a computer until today ... thanks so much for the offer(s).  I'll most likely be back down around Christchurch in a couple of weeks if either of you is still interested in climbing then.  Or if you're interested in climbing down here I would be suuuuuuper psyched! 021 120 8327

there is a bouldering wall in dunedin, a co-op thing. It's open for non-member climbing on Tuesday and Thursday pm from around 6. it's rm 14 in the old king edward technical college on stuart st. Head into bivouac outdoor for more info i guess. Anyway, good place to hook up with some climbing trips if you're in dunedin for a while.

Hi

Andrew from the Nelson Climbing Club here. Let me know if you want contacts for climbing at Paynes Ford. The conditions are perfect right now

Hi to everybody!

I am travelling in NZ South Island. I climbed outdoor in Paynes Ford (such a nice place!) and indoor in Chch, Dunedin, Queenstown and I would like to meet people for outdoor climbing . My level is not very high (maybe 15-17) but I really like to be on the rock! I'm right now on the West Coast , heading Greymouth next days, then going back to Chch, Wanaka/Queenstown or maybe for a while in Abel Tasman (don't know yet, depends where I find a job actually!).

If interested for winter climbing, let me know :) Really would like to go to Castle Hill...

Hope to see ya soon!

I have my own gear : shoes, harness but NO rope or quick-draws, and I have a car
